NFIP Television Commercial
Another Fred infraction!

Our thanks go out to Fred Rice, a longtime FRED Society member, for tipping us to yet another defamatory assault on the great name of Fred. This time it comes in the form of a tv commercial produced by the National Flood Insurance Program, (NFIP)

The commercial opens showing two guys standing in the mud with floating roofs above their heads. One character is neatly dressed and has planned for the flood that has occured. The other character is scruffy, disheveled and has no clue to what’s going on, let alone a plan. Can you guess which guy is named Fred? Your right!

Greg, the meticulous character proudly announces to the television camera, “I wasn’t supposed to need flood insurance, but I have it. Fred over there chose not to. I’ve got a plan. Fred he uh... Fred what is your plan?”Fred sheepishly replies, “Do I look like I have a plan?” “Not really,” Greg counters. The voice over then comes in telling everyone that they need flood insurance and should contact NFIP immediately.

All the Freds here at FredQuarters agree, planning for possible disasters is good. But do they have to bash Freds to make their point? The FRED Society thinks this commercial is all wet and that the NFIP owes a collective apology to the Freds of the world.
