Thirsty Freddy "The Drinking Teddy" Hand Puppet

Thirsty Freddy was made in England in the late 50s or early 60s by the Palitoy Company. How does he work? The puppeteer holds Freddy in the right hand, leaving the thumb and first finger free to work Freddy’s arms. Because the milk bottle and drinking cup are both secretly connected together with a rubber tube, when the milk bottle is filled with liquid (preferably milk) Freddy appears to be filling his glass and drinking an endless supply as his arms raise and lower. “Hey, just like you, Uncle Fred, at the last family picnic,” said the Head Fred’s nephew while playing with Thirsty Freddy for the first time.

We were delighted to discover this rare Fred toy on e-Bay, and after a very heated and expensive round of bidding, we were even more elated to have won the bid and to be adding Thirsty Freddy to the Fredseum collection. We would also like to thank Angela of North Wales in the United Kingdom for such a pleasurable e-Bay experience and for selling us this cherished toy.
